The Open Wide Open is comprised of a group of colleagues who have set out to make a positive impact in and around the Pittsburgh, PA community. Each year we host a one-day golf event where the proceeds are passed to the chosen charity. We have grown in number of participants, sponsors and total donation each year. We look forward to your participation this year!
About This Year's Charity
Gray Paws Sanctuary is a nonprofit rescue dedicated to help old dogs. Most of the senior dogs we rescue into sanctuary, or place in Forever Foster Homes are from private owners in crisis. We also sponsor dogs from local shelters, humane officers, animal control, and other partner rescues. Often times the dog would likely be euthanized because of their age and veterinary care costs.
We are committed to providing the best quality of life for senior dogs with high quality care. When the time comes, we provide palliative and hospice care. With the help of our dedicated veterinary partners, we let our senior dogs go to the “Rainbow Bridge” when they have lived the fullest life possible.

This year's event will take place on Friday, June 6th, 2025 at Pittsburgh National Golf Club in Gibsonia, PA and will benefit Gray Paw's Sanctuary Gray Paw's Sanctuary.
Founded in 2009, the Open Wide Open has raised over $220,000 for local non-profits: Every Child, Inc. Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania, The First Tee of Pittsburgh, Manchester Bidwell, Best Buddies, The Woodlands Foundation, FreeStore 15104, Muriel's Breath of Life, Orange Arrow, Jeremiah's Place, Spenser's Voice Fund, Beverly's Birthdays, Knead Community Café, Jake's Way, and Children's Home & Lemieux Family Center.
Strong participation and support was instrumental in making our events a complete success, so we are reaching out to you in hopes that you will align with us for yet another year of success for another great cause!
The golf event is in a four person scramble format with a 11am shotgun start. The festivities will include lunch as well as an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner, and a silent auction. Non-golfers are invited to attend the dinner and silent auction for a separate donation.
We are looking forward to spending the afternoon with you, enjoying friends, and raising money to support the cause. Based on previous years’ success, we are expecting a great turnout for the 17th annual outing. Our players are men and women of all ages who live and work throughout the Pittsburgh-metro area. There is also a strong business contingency to our guest list, which makes The Open Wide Open a great opportunity for you to directly communicate your products or services, as well as showcase your support of the community we call home.
